FLOORING PATTERNS:

The combinations are endless when it comes to tile floor patterns. Anything from a checkerboard pattern to a border around the room to a tiled rug pattern is possible. Regardless of which tile pattern you choose, tile adds a polish and sophistication to any room. When combined with texture and color, tile patterns can bring a room alive.

Checkerboard
A checkerboard tile style is traditional and goes well with just about any interior. This is particularly effective with black and white tiles and works well with linoleum tiles. Checkerboard patterns are simple repetition, with alternating tile colors repeated throughout the design.

Basketweave
Basketweave is a popular tile style and creates the look of woven texture on your floors. Basketweave creates an illusion feeling of depth to the floor with a sense of overlapping tiles. This is an informal style that works well in family rooms and kitchens. It is also appropriate for outdoor use.

Herringbone

In this pattern, rectangular tiles are set at right angles to each other. Like basketweave, this tile pattern creates a visual look of depth and texture. Use two different colored tiles to enhance the look of this tile application. This tile pattern also works well when done in a brick application.

Borders
Tiles can be used to create an artistic border around the perimeter of the room. Alternatively, choose decorative tiles to create the look of a rug in the center of the room. Create a rectangle or circle with border tiles to mimic the appearance of an area rug. This makes a great focal point for placement of furniture.
