How to Keep Your Floor tiles look sparkling clean:
The best way to maintain is prevention. 3 most effective prevention techniques you can use:
1. The most effective form of prevention is sealing your tiles. Often, the ceramic tile surface will come pre-sealed; however you must check this with your tile manufacturer. Whilst, the tile surface may already be sealed, the grout lines are not, and it is best to get advice from the tiler who laid your tiles, as to what type of sealant is best for your particular grout.
2. The second most effective form of prevention is the cleaning of spills and oily food crumbs, and always keeping an eye out for scuff marks that may have been caused by certain footwear. It is best to clean spills or food crumbs when they first present themselves, so as to prevent them from becoming ingrown stain that are difficult to remove. Remember, the longer you remain putting off cleaning spills and crumbs, the more they will become absorbed into the tile surface, and difficult to remove in the future. No matter what sealant you decided to apply, it can only prevent the absorption of stains for a set period of time; therefore it is inevitable that if spills are not cleaned, stains will appear. Similarly, your grout lines are more susceptible to staining, because the surface is far more porous than your tile surface. Therefore rapidly clean any spills that are on the grout line.
3.The third thing to do is to strategically place floor mats at doorways and hallways. These mats will catch any dirt from the soles of your feet or shoes and will only require occasional cleaning which is far easier and more time efficient than cleaning all your tiled ceramic floor surfaces.
